Movistar launches 2,000 Megas fiber optic plan and releases WiFi 6 router

The Symmetrical Turbo Fiber Plan, which offers up to 2,000 Mbps symmetrical speed, equivalent to 2 Gbps upload and download, is now available for homes and businesses. Its operation begins in the Metropolitan Region and will expand to more areas of the country.

The new plan is based on XGSPON technology, an upgrade of the current fiber network that allows reaching speeds of up to 10,000 Mbps, and on the new WiFi 6 router, which is released with this plan, which offers greater connection speed and stability, for example, when many devices are connected at the same time.

Movistar reported that it currently has more than 3.4 million homes passed and more than 1.2 million customers with fiber optics.

Currently, Movistar Fibra service is present in more than 120 communes, from all regions of Chile, and this 2022 it has reached areas that have this connection for the first time, such as Porvenir, the southernmost city in the world, located in the Tierra del Fuego Island.
