Average mobile internet speed reached 11.49 Mbps in March and Claro had the best performance

The average internet download speed in mobile networks with 4G technology in March was slightly lower than the average registered in February, which was 11.55 Mbps.

According to the information processed by Osiptel, only Bitel improved its performance in the average download speed compared to February with +0.20 Mbps. The other operators registered a decrease, which in the case of Entel was -0.32 Mbps, Claro -0.03 Mbps, and Movistar -0.02 Mbps.

Even so, for the third consecutive month in 2023, Claro continued to be the best-performing operator with a speed of 12.87 Mbps. Entel registered 11.97 Mbps, Movistar, 9.96 Mbps, and Bitel, 9.27 Mbps.

In terms of 4G coverage time accessed by users from their cell phones nationwide, this was 87.91 %, which represented a decrease from the 88.10 % recorded in February 2023. In this indicator, Movistar registered the highest coverage time, with 89.44 %, followed by Entel, with 88.36 %, Bitel, with 88.21 %, and Claro at 86.40%.

For the third consecutive month, the average latency for 4G networks continued to decrease, reaching 83.95 ms, lower than the figure reported in February, which was 87.96 ms, and January, 91.51 ms.

With an average latency of 77.09 ms, Entel continued to be the operator with the lowest delay time at the national level, followed by Movistar, with 79.12 ms, Claro, with 85.24 ms, and Bitel, with 99.25 ms.
