Latsat 2023

Alberto Fernández highlights the development of knowledge, science, and technology as the country's true wealth.

Yesterday morning, the Argentine president participated in the opening of Latsat 2023. He highlighted not only the value of Arsat 1 and 2 but also the Saocom satellite for its contribution to climatology data, as well as the local work on rocket propulsion, referring to the development of the Tronador launcher. "We want our satellites to launch from Bahía Blanca, not from Cape Canaveral," he expressed (in this case, referring to the project of a launch platform in the Buenos Aires city).

The opening ceremony also featured the Secretary of Public Innovation, Micaela Sánchez Malcolm, who recalled that Arsat was created 17 years ago "to defend Argentine satellite positions." Meanwhile, Agustín Rossi, Chief of Cabinet of Ministers, highlighted the synergies between the public and private sectors linked to the satellite industry, emphasizing that between 80 and 100 contracting companies participate in the construction of satellites and radars in the country.
