Nokia claims to have achieved a record od 2 Gbps speed in mmWave 5G extended-range

Nokia has announced a groundbreaking achievement in wireless connectivity, achieving sustained average download speeds of over 2 Gbps using mmWave spectrum and 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) technology over a distance of 10.86 kilometers.

This record-breaking download speed, the fastest ever recorded worldwide, was achieved using Nokia's extended-range mmWave 5G solution at the OuluZone test facilities in Oulu, Finland.

The test utilized Nokia's AirScale baseband and 24 GHz (n258) mmWave AirScale radio, along with a Nokia FastMile 5G PoC Customer Premises Equipment (CPE). The test involved eight component carriers (8CC) in the downlink, aggregating 800 MHz of mmWave spectrum. This enabled an impressive downlink speed of 2.1 Gbps and an uplink speed of 57.2 Mbps.
