Carriers Map Day 2023

EllaLink analyzes moving the branching unit into French Guiana

The cable that connects Brazil with Portugal features two branching units: one heading south towards San Pablo and the other going north towards French Guiana. Rafael Lozano, Country Manager for Brazil at EllaLink, revealed during Carriers Map Day 2023 that they are actively working on the second branching unit. He explained, "We see a need due to the presence of European overseas territories in Latin America."

Additionally, the company is considering deploying another branching unit to reach Mauritania.

Lozano specifically addressed the high-capacity requirements of the gaming segment. Thanks to EllaLink, "it has enabled gamers to compete on an equal footing in European leagues. Servers were installed in Cape Verde to allow gamers from both continents to compete under the same conditions."
