Government to extend the switch-off of analog TV until June 2025

The Ministry of Communications is preparing a resolution to extend the analog TV shutdown until June 2025 in 1,005 cities across the country, even though the initial phase is set to expire on December 15.

The phase concluding this year involves 3,187 cities where 100% of the broadcasters are already digitalized or where there is a coexistence of analog and digital signals.

For a group of 721 cities where not all local broadcasters have been digitized, the shutdown is now set for June 30, 2025. Another 284 cities, whose deadline will also be on that date, currently have their broadcasters partially or almost entirely digitalized.
