In the lead-up to the vote in Congress regarding the dissolution of the Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT), the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transport (SICT) announced that the functions of this agency will be transferred to the newly created Agency for Digital Transformation and Telecommunications.

At the conclusion of the Postal Worker’s Day celebration, the head of SICT, Jesús Esteva Medina, stated that they are also analyzing what additional responsibilities the new agency will have, particularly regarding the granting of spectrum rights.
