Entel plans to have more than 20% participation in fiber optics by 2028

According to data from the Subsecretariat of Telecommunications, Entel's market share in the fixed internet market was 9.3% in December 2024 (with 435,022 connections), representing an increase of more than two percentage points compared to 2023, when it reached 7.1% of the total.

Movistar and ClaroVTR are still the dominant players in the fixed internet market, but they have been losing market share. Movistar dropped from a 30.7% market share in December 2023 to 28.7% in the 2024 fiscal year (1,336,464 connections). ClaroVTR declined from 30.7% to 28.5% (1,328,950).

Although Entel sold its fiber network to Onnet Fibra, the agreement allowed Entel to continue offering home internet services, but now over a more "modern" network, enabling sustained growth.

As explained by Matías del Campo, Entel's B2C Market Manager, the goal now is to grow in this area. "We have a very ambitious growth target in the fiber business, and we expect to reach a market share of 20% to 25% by 2028."
