Perú to join BELLA II linking Latin America's fiber to EllaLink submarine cable

The Ministry of Transport and Communications announced that it will join the second phase of the regional BELLA II project, which will enable Peru to have international links of more than 100 Gbps. This initiative is led by the Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (RedCLARA) and co-financed by the European Union.

The project aims to interconnect Peru, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras with the transatlantic submarine cable EllaLink, which has been in operation since 2021. While the other Central American countries will reach speeds above 20 Gbps, Peru will be one of the main beneficiaries with higher capacity.

The MTC will provide specialized technical support for the implementation of the project in the country.
