This was confirmed by Germán Garay, the company's CTO, yesterday during a panel at Fiber Connect Latam 2025. He specifically referred to the customer service areas as well as ERPs and CRMs.

In a conversation with Convergencia following the panel, the executive noted that Generative AI is not yet seen in Argentina as a driver of traffic.

Instead, the impact is being felt in increased connectivity requirements for data centers (under 100 gigabits per second, which can be perfectly handled with the current infrastructure, according to Garay); in redundancy needs; and in the labor market. “There is a redefinition of industrial processes,” he commented.

Steps for ISPs. Luciano Mamani, FTTH network architect, spoke in another session about the stages an ISP should go through when starting its AI journey. First, it is necessary to define a use case based on a specific and concrete business need. “You have to consider the costs, not just licensing, but also infrastructure, data storage, model training and the human factor. Regarding the latter, it’s essential to have personnel who understand, adjust, and validate the AI,” the executive said.

Secondly, the heart of any AI solution lies in the data. Information sources must be normalized, integrable and accessible.

Mamani listed third the importance of defining the starting point of the initiative. “Ideally, the goal is not to pursue grandiose solutions, but rather to start with a limited scope that allows for testing, measuring, and scaling. For example, focusing on a specific area or customer segment.”

Finally, the Metrotel representative reminded that AI requires constant monitoring, adjustment and validation by human beings.
