Telefónica is reportedly considering making a takeover bid for Vodafone Spain, which was acquired last year by the British investment fund Zegona, according to the news portal El Confidencial.
Sources indicate that Telefónica’s largest shareholders support the move. These include the Spanish state fund SEPI, the holding company CriteriaCaixa, and the Saudi telecommunications firm STC, which together own nearly 30% of Telefónica.
