Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the company’s next generation of chips is now in full production, adding that they will deliver five times the AI processing capacity of its previous chips.
The Vera Rubin platform, made up of six standalone Nvidia chips, is expected to debut later this year. The flagship server will feature 72 of the company’s graphics units and 36 of its new central processors.
Nvidia also promoted a new generation of network switches using a new type of connection known as co-packaged optics. The technology is key to linking thousands of machines into a single system and competes with offerings from Broadcom and Cisco Systems.
In other announcements, Huang highlighted new software called Alpamayo, which can help autonomous vehicles make driving decisions and create a documented record for engineers to use later.
