Surf revives mobile network plan in São Paulo

The mobile virtual operator Surf Telecom announced it has resumed the project to implement its own mobile infrastructure in the city of São Paulo.

The initiative focuses on the metropolitan region and will use the 2.5 GHz band. It should be recalled that this project was announced by the company in 2018 but was postponed several times, when the company’s customer base was substantially smaller.

On the matter, the company’s head, Yon Moreira, said: “After 20 years, Surf is the first SMP operator to deploy its own spectrum frequency in São Paulo, after Vivo, TIM and Claro.”
