Anatel’s Board of Directors extended the regulatory sandbox for direct-to-device (D2D) satellite communications until April 2029 or until permanent rules for the service take effect.
In addition to the new deadline, Anatel reiterated, at Vivo’s request, that commercial deployment of the D2D application is permitted within the testing environment and that the pilot project does not impose any limit on the number of participating mobile stations.
