The Telecommunications Undersecretariat (Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones, Subtel) announced an update to the technical standard governing fixed satellite services. The amendment adds new frequency bands, which will increase the transmission capacity of these networks.
It said the previous regulation mainly covered the Ku and Ka bands for satellite services. The update also adds the W band, while the inclusion of the V band will be formalized in the coming days through publication in the Official Gazette.
