Federico Lozano announced at Carriers Map Day 2026 the signing of a collaboration agreement between Antel Argentina and SkyOnline, allowing both companies to expand the business continuity options they offer customers by providing access to recovery or alternative sites in both Uruguay and Argentina.

As Rafael Ibáñez, CEO of SkyOnline, explained to Convergencialatina, the agreement will rely on Antel’s high-availability connectivity linking Antel’s data center in Pando, Uruguay, with SkyOnline’s data center in San Telmo, Buenos Aires.

Lozano also highlighted that the agreement marks the kickoff of joint work that will involve coordination with Antel Uruguay’s Data Center, Marketing and Sales teams, as well as the development of new commercial capabilities that Antel Argentina will have in the remainder of the year.

During the event, Lozano also announced the signing of a marketing agreement between Antel and Ciena aimed at joint participation in events and commercial activities in Latin America.

He also emphasized that joint efforts with ITC will continue to be strengthened to export successful public-sector and government cases to the region for the implementation of new technologies and digital transformation projects.

As part of the deployment of new network infrastructure to enhance regional interconnection, he also announced that a new segment of the Firmina submarine cable will be activated between Las Toninas, Argentina; Maldonado, Uruguay; and Praia Grande, Brazil.
