Global connectivity demand continues to grow, driving the need for higher-capacity networks, said Darío Zatti, lead product manager at Cirion. Speaking at  Carriers Map Day 2026, he said international capacity is growing at a rate of about 19%, while around 65% of demand is linked to hyperscalers, content providers and CDNs.

This scenario is driving the market from 100G connections toward 400G capacities, with a future transition to 800G. Zatti also highlighted the importance of AS3356, which Cirion uses in Latin America and which is connected to nearly 55,000 autonomous systems.

The scale of the network, he explained, makes aspects such as peering engineering, BGP security and the implementation of RPKI particularly important for preventing incidents. In Latin America, Brazil accounts for more than half of regional traffic, although Cirion is beginning to see a trend toward greater content decentralization.
