CVG Telecom starts up its first satellite platform

The state telecommunications company announced that it has started up its multi-satellite platform, after investing US$ 3 million. This system will allow it to offer telephone, internet and data transmission services throughout the country. According to the president of CVG Telecom, Julio Durán, at the beginning, the company will assist the necessities that State Missions and several social projects demand. Durán also explained that the object of the satellite platform is to offer services to geographically isolated communities. Furthermore, he indicated that the project’s execution is aligned to CONATELs Universal Services Project, the regulating entity.

CVG Telecom, through CVG Edelca, develops telecommunications services in the Country’s south area and it will start up a fiber optic network that will interconnect to other alternatives.  Within the short term, CVG Telecom seeks to offer services to un-assisted areas and small cable TV operators so that –through the network- they could reach areas and deploy their offers.
