Martha Castellanos to head Computadores para Educar

The Directory of the program Computers to Educate (CPE in its Spanish acronym), has selected Martha Patricia Castellanos Saavedra as its new Director. Through August 31, the official acted as development director of the Communications Ministry, office where she worked as an advisor for the same directory and of the Compartel program. In a talk with Convergencialatina, Martha Castellanos underlined that one of her main works will be to reposition the CPC brand. The new director indicated that this year the program foresees to recondition 18,000 computers, assemble 14,000 and receive another 14,000 from international donations, through the “Give to Colombia” program, supported by companies like Microsoft. For 2010, the CPE program aims to install 251,000 equipments throughout 20,000 schools, 45% of the total currently existing in the country, constituting one of the developments of the Communications Ministry to expand broadband services.
