The tender for the C block of spectrum in the 700 MHz band that the National Telecommunications Commission of Honduras (Conatel) will carry out in late November generates uncertainties. Both the base price as other obligations contained in contract documents, the reservation of spectrum for Hondutel and an inevitable consequence of leaving one of the two incumbents without 4G spectrum at 700 MHz, seems to dismiss the idea that the Honduran government would conduct this auction to improve coverage, meet demands for mobile services and bridge the digital divide.
