After several months of negotiation and having officially announced a merger agreement last August, Viacom and CBS set "early December" as the date on which they will begin operating as a single company, ViacomCBS. The merger already has the approval of National Amusements, shareholder of both companies. The new media giant will have a valuation of US$30 billion and a potential annual cost savings of US$500 million.
