Governments and operators enter general stage of 2G and 3G blackouts

This is highlighted by a recent GSA report. Latin America and the Caribbean increased the pace of closures of six ones completed by December 2023 to 15 as of June this year. The replacement is LTE in the region and elsewhere a combination of LTE and 5G.

According to a recent report by GSA (the association that brings together network equipment suppliers), governments and operators throughout the world have entered, since 2023, in a “generalized” process of blackouts of 2G networks. and 3G.
