The president of the Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency), Leonardo Euler de Morais, denied that the agency would be thinking about intervening the Oi group or to apply the expiration of the operator's fixed telephony concessions, as published in a note in the newspaper Estado de San Pablo.
The head of the regulator recalled that the agency has been carrying out a special accompaniment of the provision of telecommunications services of that company as well as its financial situation, since 2014. Since 2016, with the beginning of the Judicial Recovery process order of the group, in force until this moment, the intervention of Justice took place and since then established a constructive relationship between Anatel and the competent judge.
The newspaper Estado de San Pablo published days ago that the regulator would be evaluating intervening Oi, due to the bad results obtained during the second quarter of this year.
