Mike Pompeo launches "Clean Network" initiative to reduce China's presence in technology industry

The Secretary of State announced in a press conference the five points of the "Clean Network" program. "We call on all countries and companies that love freedom to join this clean network", said Pompeo.

In the "Clean Carrier" segment, Pompeo urged politicians to pressure the FCC to withdraw licenses from Asian firms China Telecom Americas, China Unicom Americas, Pacific Networks and ComNet; In the "Clean Store" aspect, it established that the US government will try to clean app stores in the country to avoid applications in which the developer has a parent company based in China; As for "Clean Apps", Pompeo called on North American developers to remove their apps from Chinese smartphones and ecosystems, such as Huawei OS.

In fourth place there is "Clean Cloud": the State Department will seek to inhibit the commercial capabilities of Chinese Cloud companies in the United States, such as Alibaba, Baidu and Tencent. Finally, "Clean Cable" refers to technology providers for submarine cables (Huawei Marine would be the target here).
