Almost 20% of companies are willing to pay more for secure Unified Communications

According to a study presented by Ribbon at its annual conference last week in Washington (see separate article), 56% of respondents were victims of security incidents - from DDos to robberies. 83% thought that UC providers should be responsible for the security of IP communications and 18% admitted to be willing to pay more for this benefit.

France went ahead with the creation of a tax that angered the US, but to which Italy, Austria, Poland and the Republic will surely join in the short term. In Latin America, regulators plan to tax OTTs, but there are no uniform criteria and so far taxes fall on the final consumer.

Brazilian IoT plan underpins business progress in definition as SVA and exclusion of Fistel tax payment

Decree 9,854/19 establishes the National Internet of Things Plan, which also provides for the creation of a sector chamber –the Chamber of Management and Support for the Development of Machine-to-Machine and IoT Communication Systems. MITIC must identify priority environments for IoT solutions, although it highlights that, at least, there will be health, cities, industries and rural areas.
