In May 2020, Prat submarine cable to be operational, after an investment of US$100 million

Gtd will deploy the 3,500 km laying between Arica and Puerto Montt, with an initial installed capacity of 1.8 Terabytes per second. Infinera was selected as the equipment supplier for the initiative.

The submarine cables that currently go to Chilean land are concentrated in Arica and Valparaíso. As of May 2020, the number of cities with access to international connectivity will be expanded thanks to the Prat laying, developed by the local operator Gtd along with Infinera.
