Peru wants to structure a 3.5 GHz and 26 GHz “combo” for a bidding process in 2021

In the public consultation that proposed using the 3.5 GHz spectrum for new services, six comments were received (including four from mobile operators Claro, Movistar, Bitel and Entel).

Through Ministerial Resolution N° 0491-2020-MTC / 01.03, at the end of August the project that proposes to modify Note P73 of the National Plan for Frequency Allocation - PNAF was published. "It is considered necessary to modify the scope of the reservation of the 3,400 - 3,600 MHz (...) frequency band so that, although the approval of new assignments, modifications, extensions, transfers or any other act that involves variations in the right of use of the portion of the radioelectric spectrum, it is possible for operators who have assignment of frequencies in the aforementioned band be able to make modifications to the technical characteristics of the network and other aspects," indicates the text.
