WiMax technology is interfering on C band TV receivers

The Ministry of Communications have warned to the Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicaciones, ANATEL (Telecom Regulator) that WiMax equipment being installed by Motorola in the cities of Garanhuns and Caetés, state of Pernambuco, is generating interferences over C band TV receivers of the region. In these two cities, WiMax technology is being developed  over the 3.5 GHz frequency, with the purpose of turning them into digital cities. The project has a cost of US$810,000 and besides Motorola, companies such as Dell, Chesf, Embratel, TIM and the Universidad Federal de Pernambuco are taking part.
