Movistar presented its Push To Talk telephony service (PTT). The company wants to compete with Avantel that has 150,000 users. Handsets cost from US$30.65 with a postpaid plan. Movistar started to offer services to companies with intermediate needs.
Additionally, the Chairman of Avantel, Carlos Mariño, criticized Movistar's prices, and accused them of putting previous mobile handset versions in the market and using adapted technology and no Push To Talk native (PTT).
