As part of Cablevision¿s Intercity Backbone plan that integrates the northeastern provinces of Argentina (NEA), the company announced the completion of a fiber optic network, linking the city of Posadas Misiones and Buenos Aires, which demanded investments of US$ 31 2 million.

Cablevisión made the announcement the same day that the Federal Authority for Audiovisual Communication Services (AFSCA) ordered the suspension of procedures to cede shares of Cablevisión Duke of Punta Alta, with those of Multicanal.

With this completion, some 65,000 households will be able to access to premium services, such as digital TV, high-definition content, and Internet at higher speeds. The network, which extends 5,900 km, in the future will be extended to other cities of the NEA, as Resistencia and Corrientes.
