Galander from Cordoba, which last year constructed the mobile handset plant in Tierra del Fuego, has manufactured PCD-branded phones on the island, which are already sold in retail chains in the country.
PCD is the heiress of Audiovox, the brand that was market leader at the time of TDMA and CDMA technologies. There are three GSM models: one is low-end with a camera, the other two, of the highest level equipped with TV. Galander’s plant has capacity to produce one million handsets per year.
