Smartphones owned by 80% of Costa Ricans from Greater Metropolitan Area

This was reported by RED506 study conducted by Unimer for El Financiero. The study, performed on people between 12 and 75, indicates that more than a half of Intern surfers use the device as the primary means of daily connecting to the network. Four out of ten users have a Samsung phone. It is folllowed by Nokia, with 20% and Apple (10%).

In addition, more than a half of users accesses social networksmore than once a day. The Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) has the highest percentage of subscribers with smartphones, second ranks Movistar and Claro is the last one. The Greater Metropolitan Area includes 164 districts of the country and hosts almost 60% of the population.
