The edition of the Media and Telecommunications Map in Mexico 2014, that states the first experience of its kind for that country, represents the scene for the convergent industries in one of the main markets in Latin America. 

For more than 15 years, Convergencialatina has been developing Maps that are real tools for comprehending at one look how information society players interact. 

In this case, we can observe the big incidence of America Móvil in almost all the services, as well as the importance of the television duopoly historically built by Televisa and TV Azteca. 

This will be the basis on which the México Pact will thrust changes, executed by the new regulatory organism, the Telecommunication Federal Institute (IFETEL). 

While President Enrique Peña Nieto issued the constitutional reform regarding telecommunications by the middle of 2013, still its secondary legislation has not been sanctioned up to the edition closure of this map. 

The aim of the initiative is to promote the entrance of new actors in order to optimize the quality and variety of services, in search of a bigger satisfaction towards the final consumer. For this, for instance, some companies have been defined as economic preponderant agents and asymmetric regulations were established for each of them. 

The greatest expectations are those determined by the tender of two new national broadcasting chains. The pending rules will establish the real scope of the IFETEL authority, and will establish the steps for the application of the new legislation that will certainly revolutionize the Mexican market. 

The Media and Telecommunications Map in México 2014 is a tool that enables the knowledge and comprehension of the interests of each company that operates in the country. At this point of history, aims to get a register on how the market is composed. From now on, changes will start to come consequently with this new legislation.
