Undersecretariat of Telecommunications confirms WOM not to have access to 700 MHz band

Pedro Huichalaf, Undersecretary of Telecommunications, dismisses the request of the Chilean mobile operator: "That will not happen, the blocks are already allocated and if hypothetically we decided that part of the spectrum of emergency network might be reallocated to a company we would have to make a tender, as it has been done with the 2600 MHz and the 700 MHz bands where all companies could participate not only WOM ".

In addition, the official said that the Secretariat is working on the implementation of the emergency network, analyzing the compatibility of television and telephony so that there is no interference. He added that the company Motorola will be in charge of developing these test.
