The Comisisón de Regulación de Telecomunicaciones (CRT) provided the 350 prefix numbering to the trunking operator. The users could keep their current number adding the prefix. Avantel met all the requirements stated by the Ministry of Communications to have access to the direct interconnection with the cellular operators and to own its own numbering.
