Comteco obtained earnings for US$ 626,000 in th first semester

The Cooperativa de Telecomunicaciones Cochabamba (Comteco) recorded earnings for US$ 626,000 in the first semester of 2005, against the US$ 100,00 it had gained in June 2004. The Board of Directors will proposed, in the general meeting to be held on August 12, the dividends distribution among the 85,000 active partners of the cooperative.

From the subsidiaries,  InteracTV reduced its losses from US$ 924,000 in June 2004 to US$ 75,000 at the end of the first semester. Boliviatel, Comteco's long distance company, went from losses  of US$ 258,000 last year to earnings of US$ 407,000. On the other hand, the mobile company NuevaTEl/ Viva GSM, where Comteco has 28% share (the remaining portion belongs to Alltel) showed a gross income of US$ 3.8 million in December 2004.
