The authorities of the Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Bogotá (ETB) requested authorization to sell 86.5% of the company and the CEO of Millicom, Mauricio Ramos, said that his company has "potential interest" in buying that percentage. He added that the customer base and the possible expansion of networks of the firm called their attention and that "the details to evaluate the possibility are pending".
"ETB has an important customer base, there is an expansion by way of acquiring an existing network that could be of interest. Our mission is to provide the best service and be as close as possible to our customers with a fixed and mobile network. As for fixed network, this is done by a decision to build or buy", said Ramos in an interview with La Republica.
