Intercable registered cuts in broadband and TV services

The second broadband (cablemodem) provider in the country after CANTV, registered since Monday 12 cuts in its Internet and pay TV services throughout the country. At the moment, some seven national and international channels are out of the air. Yesterday, service cuts in Internet were extended to some 14 hours.

Brasil Telecom provides to Intercable the international connectivity to Internet through the cable GlobeNet. According to Juan Plaja, executive director of Brasil Telecom in Venezuela, the international link did not suffer any flaws since its installation in 2001 and manifested that the company is not responsible for the cuts of Intercable. Brasil Telecom sells to Intercable, international capacity through the submarine cable GlobeNet between Maiquetía, in Venezuela, and Boca Raton, in the United States, and later gives the signal to the NAP of Americas.
