Parallel to Futurcom 2007, the Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (APEX in its Spanish acronym), a Brazilian private entity with public finance and Softnet, organized 3-day business circles in the Brazilian city of Florianopolis with the objective to connect local small and medium-sized companies with foreign companies to impel the export of software and telecommunications services.
Under the name "Buyer project", in this opportunity the local companies Suntech, Visent, Policentro, Stefanini, SEA, Via Fórum, Tecnológica, Halógica, Store and Optimedia, together with four foreign enterprises: Asis of Peru and WBC Communications, Global Marketing Technologies and High Technologies Consulting of the United States were present.
André Limp, projects director of APEX, said to Convergencialatina that his organization has been working with Softnet since 2005 to develop export projects within the area of software and telecommunication services. The first one took place in the two-year period 2005/2006 and generated US$ 57 million in exports, of which 15% corresponded to telecommunication services. "Four months ago we started the second biannual project through an investment of US$ 6 million, as a result we expect exports from the initiative to surpasses that amount by 15 times”, he assured and added that at the moment 69 companies are participating in this type of initiative and hopes that some 40 companies will be added during the next four months.
Carlos Guitti de Souza, operations technology director of Visent, participated in the meetings and commented that he has closed businesses with the Peruvian company Asis to export solutions of operations and network maintenances. At the moment, Visent offers support to Claro, Embratel, Teleming, Brasil Telecom, Amazonia Celular and GVT. Likewise, Robson de Oliveira, marketing director of WBC Comunicaciones, revealed the agreement with Visent to control telecommunications traffic to Convergencialatina.
