Alvarion is Telmex's WiMax provider in the country

The Israeli company Alvarion opened yesterday offices in Buenos Aires, and confirmed that it developed Telmex's infrastructure in Argentina. Rami Bar, president of Alvarion Latin America, assured that three more offices will be opened in the region, one of which will be established in Ecuador. "Alvarion grwos globally and regionally, and we have more than half the market, portion we expect to keep throughout 2009," said Bar.

In conversation with Convergencialatina, the executive underlined that in the segment operators with bands with no license stood out. "This market is growing, together with companies purchasing equipment and using bands with no license over 5 GHz. A portion of the business that will be opened in that sense are the digital cities, specially in Brazil and Mexico.".
