The Autoridad de Regulación y Fiscalización en Telecomunicaciones y Transportes, ATT (Telecom and Transportation Regulator) has definitely revoked the operation license to ITS, COTEL's cable TV operator in Santa Cruz, thus risking the return of investments and revenue of this service. However, the signal continues and users will not be affected. But the possibility that they might be transferred to another company is not ruled out.
The Director of ATT, Cliford Paravicini, explained yesterday that ITS lost its license because, at first, it failed to carry out management to renew them and when the resolution cancelling the permit was issued neither the company’s attorney nor COTEL's attorney appealed that decision, in spite of the notifications.
ITS renders cable TV services to a total of 4132 users in Santa Cruz. According to COTEL's data, that cooperative has more than 40,000 cable TV users in La Paz.
