Government begins the process of selling its 32.5% stake in Telefónica

The Finance Minister, Mauricio Cárdenas, reported that a consortium made up of BNP Paribas Bank, Bank of America and Bancolombia was hired to put a price on its shares in Telefónica. "This is a non-strategic investment of the Government because in the telecommunications sector the private sector can provide all those services and the OECD recommended that the State be the regulator and not the operator," said Cárdenas. Soon the schedule will be known with the following steps of the process.
