Javier Jiménez Espriú will be the new Secretary of Communications and Transportation

The candidate of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena, in Spanish), Andrés Manuel López Obrador, won the presidential elections with 53.6% of the votes, followed by Ricardo Anaya (PAN), with 22.6%, and José Antonio Meade (of the PRI official), with 15.4%. The results also give the coalition Hagamos Historia, led by López Obrador, legislative majority in the Congress of the Union. For the ICT sector, the new government plans to boost broadband, give incentives to the industry, promote new generation networks, a digital literacy program and give impetus to the Shared Network,  among othe things that Morena representatives anticipated. Javier Jiménez Espriú, an engineer from the National University of Mexico, will be the new Secretary of Communications and Transportation. In December, Enrique Peña Nieto will finish his term, whose main milestone for the sector was the  Telecommunications and Broadcasting Reform.
