Telefónica makes an operational spin-off of Hispanoamerica and does not rule out reducing its presence in the region

The executive president of the Spanish operator, José María Álvarez-Pallete, said minutes ago at a press conference in Madrid: "If that means reducing positions in the region, we will reduce them." He justified the creation of this unit, called "HispAm" in which "growth no longer beats inflation" and did not rule out alliances or combinations: "All options are open." It will be led by Alfonso Gómez, currently responsible for Hispam Norte. Brazil, meanwhile, will be one of the essential focuses of Telefónica for the next few years, along with Spain, the United Kingdom and Germany. In addition, the creation of Telefónica Tech was announced to bring together digital businesses, and Telefónica Infra, whose main asset is Telxius.
