Lack of maintenance and investment in recent years resulted in outdated equipment and node bottlenecks, limiting Arsat in delivering capacity to the customer. Pablo Tognetti, president of Arsat, specified during a webinar organized by Inaes that in the first six to eight months of the project, US$16 million will be contributed.
Meanwhile, to reverse the lack of maintenance at free to air digital television (TDA) stations - even worse than that observed at Refefo - US$4 million will have to be invested. Out of a total of 101 stations in the country, 75% have dead battery problems, four are off and most of the generators and air conditioning equipment are affected. In any case, as Tognetti assured, 90% make emissions.
