Private networks for verticals: lobbies battle that is coming in the 5G era

The industrial private 5G raises as requirements the guarantee of coverage and performance, to be able to "orchestrate" multiple assets in motion within the manufacturing field, using multiple applications at the same time, with prioritization of traffic and in a safe environment. Mainly three models are being considered in Europe, Japan and the United States: “do it yourself” (DIY), in which the vertical is encouraged to face an implementation of a mobile network; those led by telcos and hybrids.

This was reported by the GSA in a recent report. Of these agreements, 2 are operational in island nations located in the Pacific: Palau and the Cook Islands. In 4 other countries, the technology is being tested, and there are 18 projects in the planning stage.

Sites earned US$28 million in the first quarter and added 1,040 towers in a year

The tower arm of América Móvil maintained its tower lease ratio at a level of 1.21, similar to the previous quarter. The loss of agreements in Brazil and Panama was offset by new agreements in other countries in the region.

Panama begins 5G era with Más Móvil pilots and plan to allocate more spectrum

The Cable & Wireless operator brand carries out tests with commercial, tourism and port firms for a period of two to three months with spectrum provided free of charge by the regulator ASEP. A public consultation on future attributions will be held before July and it is expected that the 3.5 GHz band will be awarded by the end of the year.
