Federal auditor requests a modification in the Fintech Law

The Superior Auditor of the Federation (ASF, in Spanish) stated that the Fintech Law should be clearer about the regulatory and governmental authorities that should intervene in the control of firms that operate in that business.

According to the ASF, there is no clear provision to ensure compliance with the closure of operations of fintech companies that do not comply with the legislation. "The competent authority was not expressly identified to ensure compliance with that provision," said the ASF.

The National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV, in Spanish) reported that 201 financial platforms carried out some activity contemplated in the Fintech Law, so they must adhere to the regulation.
