Regulator authorizes Starlink to operate commercially

Subtel has completed the authorization process for the public data transmission service for five satellite ground stations, requested by the company: they will be located in Caldera, Coquimbo, San Clemente, Puerto Saavedra and Puerto Montt. The Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Gloria Hutt, said that “for several months, Starlink showed us its interest in carrying out connectivity pilots, which have been successful in sectors such as Caleta Sierra, Sotomó, and now it is ready to offer its commercial offer throughout the country."

Starlink carried out two pilot tests in the towns of Sotomó, in the Los Lagos Region and in Caleta Sierra, in the Coquimbo Region.

Nokia: The AI supercycle and the new paradigm for global network traffic toward 2034

The Finnish vendor expects global WAN traffic to grow exponentially, driven largely by direct AI-generated traffic. This will substantially reshape optical, IP and transport networks by creating sustained demand for high-capacity connectivity to and between data centers, affecting everything from the metropolitan edge to the regional core.
