Intelsat acquires two software-defined satellites from Thales Alenia Space

Intelsat and Thales Alenia Space signed an agreement to build two next-generation software-defined satellites, designed to advance Intelsat's global fabric of GEO connectivity, as part of its 5G software-defined network.

This addition, scheduled for 2025, will allow the satellite operator greater agility, flexibility and orchestration at the perimeter, satellite and core.
