The Executive tries to reverse the cancellation of the lithium tender

After the Copiapó Court of Appeals suspended the lithium bidding process two days after its award, the Executive filed reversal appeals to reverse this decision.

Meanwhile, the Chamber of Deputies approved to appeal as a Corporation before the Constitutional Court to present a requirement of inapplicability and suspend the process. The request was presented by a group of opposing deputies, arguing that the tender, which establishes special operating contracts for the exploration, exploitation and benefit of lithium deposits, will result in constitutional violations of "fundamental norms." As stated in the text that will be sent to the TC, Chilean assets would be affected "enormously", given that the tender delivers part of the country's lithium at a very "low cost".
